Finding Your Next Toshiba Laptop That Fits Your Needs

by Andrew Johnson

Ever walked into a computer store determined that you will walk out with a new laptop? I have. Have you ever been overwhelmed by the variety? Count me in. There are so many features and requirements. However, it was worth doing a little research so that I could find my Toshiba laptop.

I found that the best method to evaluate computers was to determine what I needed. I suggest prioritizing your needs before heading to the store. Do you like to watch a lot of movies? Are you an avid photographer? Do you just want to get online now and again? Determining what your software and hardware needs are. It will help you to define the laptop you will buy.

Nearly all computers available can be separated by price, dimension, and performance. I found the Toshiba website most helpful. You can browse all the computers available or narrow your options by choosing the specifications that you desire.

The Toshiba laptops are available in a wide range of prices. This made shopping easy. I could look at computers that were less than $600 or even more than $2000! The higher priced computers offered greater performance, which is essential for gaming. Yet, I needed a lightweight computer. And I found that these were available in all sizes and price ranges!

While evaluating options, I found the mini book to be a great value. It has a nice amount of hard drive (160-250), and it has a media accelerator. The best news is that the price begins at about $400.

As prices increase, you will find added software packages. The laptops priced between 800 and 1000 dollars are equipped with Genuine Windows XP Professional. It may even have the Windows 7 Professional, which is the newest operating system from Microsoft. The lower cost devices have a Windows starter version.

Performance encompasses the RAM and the processor speed. The RAM indicates the storage available on the laptop. RAM is an acronym for Random Access Memory. Greater storage allows you to hold more information on the device. The range of RAM in Toshibas is 1 to 3 GB DDR2, or Double Data Rate 2. The most expensive laptops will offer the best RAM. However, find the most RAM within your price constraints.

Another issues is processor speed. Most laptops come with a hard disk drive. However, you will find that more expensive computers will have the solid state drive. Both computers may have the same value for the drive, but a solid state drive is a better version. The drive indicates how fast your computer will run and how many programs can be run concurrently.

Buying a laptop is an important investment. Technology is always changing. Keeping ahead of the curve is not more important than finding a laptop that meets your needs. Look at price, size, and performance when making your decision.
